Colours Of Birmingham - Birmingham Weekender 2017.
I was commissioned through Northfield Arts Forum on behalf on SAMPAD to help create skirts for the dancers in the Rangeeli Parade.

The fabric was batik dyed by a separate group, I was in a team of 3 working collaboratively to create 20 hopped skirts approximately 1.5m in diameter. The task was split into talent so we each became responsible for a portion of the make, with collaboration on the intial designs we chose to make a portion of sirts in whole batik, a portion on 3rds and a portion in quarters, each of the latter where accented of blue/red fabric, for my part in construction I had the responsibility of sewing up the skirts so they could be hooped.
Here are some pictures of the skirts - some just sewn and then the finished skirts in the parade!

I was also part of Northfield Arts Forums own team, making items for and then being a part of the Rangeeli Parade. Here are some images from our part in the Festival itself, taken from my position in the troop.
